Rick Foster

Rick taught political science courses at UCCS for over 20 years. He also served as the chair of the Political Science Department at Pikes Peak State College over that time. He made a true difference in the lives of his students and encouraged many to go from PPSC to UCCS, several of which became our graduates of the year. A beloved teacher, Rick enjoyed teaching any and all students. He taught introductory courses on American Government as well as senior level courses on European and Russian Politics. Regardless of the course he was teaching, Rick loved to be in the classroom. He was also a great colleague, particularly as a mentor and sounding board for new faculty, and an always cheery presence around the office. He was also an avid sports fan, particularly of his alma mater's Kansas Jayhawks basketball team. He will be missed.
